IPSC : Galway is not a setting for Israeli Blood Diamonds or a showcase for soiled Zionist bling?

category galway | rights, freedoms and repression | news report author Sunday December 30, 2007 11:24author by TD - IPSC

The Ordure of Zionism !

Yesterday, on rain soaked Shop Street awash with bargain hunters, Galway IPSC did an awareness stall on Israeli Blood Diamonds in a continuing effort to persuade people not to purchase gemstones crafted in Israel and thus strenghtening the economy of a rogue state that, in regards to human rights, shamelessly exults and behaves like a mad dog off the leash. Israel, the dominant and alpha player in the cut diamond business, unlike Canada, doesn't mark the diamonds it crafts and the UN, true to form, exempts these conflict stones from the Kimberley Process thus leading to purchasers unwittingly buying the ordure of Zionism.

In response to our polite overtures; to encourage its members to make it explicit to purchasers the country of crafting, the Retail Jewellers of Ireland whined their raison d'etre did'nt extend beyond an "advisory capacity" and that, reading between the lines, was'nt going to be exercised.

The nationwide campaign continues and Galway IPSC will be outside Lynch's castle in Shop Street this coming Saturday from 11AM to 6PM, if you care to join us?.
