Public PARADE FOR THE PLANET for action on climate change
From the amphitheater at Dublin's Civic Offices (Dame Street) to the Custom House
Saturday 8th December from 1pm
December 8th marks the GLOBAL DAY OF ACTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE. As the Bali talks on climate change proceed, ordinary people around the world will be finding different ways of sounding the alarm on climate change so their politicians wake up and do much more about it.
Stop Climate Chaos is hosting a PARADE FOR THE PLANET which will see supporters making their own carbon-neutral way along the route, by foot, bike, skateboard and buggy, ringing bells and blowing whistles to SOUND THE ALARM FOR ACTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE!
At 2 p.m. the bells of churches from around the city and the country will ring out to signal that the world must warm by no more than two degrees centigrade if mankind is to continue to live here with any level of comfort and safety.
The Government will be given over 25,000 petition signatures which Stop Climate Chaos has collected during 2007 demanding strong political action to stop the planet burning and give us a future worth having.
Member groups from around the country are also planning to find their own ways of marking the Global Day of Action.

Great photo of Eamon Ryan looking lost for words ...unfortunately he did speak and like all politicians he was full of it.
No mention of Rossport,Shannon or Tara .All of these campaigns the "Greens " were so happy to use for photo ops pre election..
Obviously its easier to do a u turn on a bike.
i would have liked to be on the parade today. I support the cause but I live in Wexford. Driving to Dublin to protest against climate change would be nonsense.
We have to find ways of protesting that do not endanger the climate.

“Cradle to cradle” is a concept that was created, separately, by the Swiss industrial analyst Walter Sathel, on the one hand, and by the American architect William McDonough and the German chemist Michael Braungart on the other.
The “cradle to cradle” concept is a revolutionary approach to redesigning mankind’s industrial system based on the conviction that careful design at the initial stages of any project, inspired by the regenerative, healthy productivity of natural models is capable of creating an industry that sustains and provides a balance between the social, environmental and economic aspects inherent in any human activity.
