Peaceful protest at refinery site
Some pictures of the blockades of the trucks deliivering material to the refinery site. Members of the Rossport Five were present at the picket this morning as well as some of those who faced charges at the court in Belmullet yesterday.
The atmosphere was amiable among the security guards, truck drivers and protesters, but the Gardaí were bad tempered and threatening. One garda was heard to say that a protester should "watch himself" and "was running out of rope".
There is a large scale sit -in protest planned for the refinery gate for tomorrow morning.
