The evidence that the Gaza casualty numbers from the Hamas-run Health Ministry (now over 32,000) are wildly inflated continues to mount. Mark Zlochin looks at what the proportions of male and female UNRWA workers tell us.

Don't be fooled by the 'Britain is growing' fairytales, says David Craig. Any 'growth' is accounted for by the hike in the benefits bill and in civil servants' pay and a heap of other unproductive deficit spending.

Climate Change: The Movie, the new film by Martin Durkin, should be shown at every school in the country to disabuse anxious young people of the idea that we're in the midst of a 'climate emergency'.

Back to Navan Court/Tara Defenders

category national | environment | event notice author Saturday September 01, 2007 09:19author by Back to Court Report this post to the editors

Just a note.

The nine arrested campaigners are returning to Court on Wednesday
the Fifth of September, in the Navan District Courthouse.

Seven, who were arrested together have been on continuing bail.
2 Who were arrested separately did not have the same conditions imposed.

The same messages:-

If you want to show solidarity, its a small enclosed yard, with quite a humourless judge.
So silent protest. The Gardai tried to prevent some of the campaign support entering
the court last time, due to high volume of cases and small little court room, so there
is a continous coming and going outside.

The hearing time is not published yet- but was given for 10am last time.
The judge pushed it back til lunch so be aware that there is waiting involved.

best of luck to the campaigners.
Now who is putting up the Gresham images , two days after the effect???

Best of luck- will be there1

On Wednesday the Fifth of September the people arrested at the blockades will be returning to court
in Navan. Seven of the nine are on continuing bail for non-violent actions.
Two were later arrested and have less stringent bail conditions.
The defendants include members of the Camp/Vigil/Direct Action groups /CST/Revolt video.
They are facing group charges though some were there to record the blockades and
some to carry out their right of Protest.

The case seeking a halting of works , which is being undertaken by an individual Michael
Canney is one where a litigant is appealing under legislations to call a halt to the works
pending the outcome of the EU enquiry.

Both cases are ongoing with campaign supports asked for the criminal hearing tomorrow
and ongoing support to the litigant in the case to stop the road, which will be at a later
date and advertised on the Newswire.

The Minister for the environment has not responded to or met with either the campaigners
who are criminalised due to his predescessors political connivances nor with the
committee who are litigating for halting the road and highlighting the role of the EU
in relation to planning and heritage legislations in this country.

News is coming in that today (Monday) another Tara campaigner has been arrested near Rath Lugh while peacefully demonstrating against ongoing illegal construction work on a national monument. His name has been given as Rick Finley. Our friend Rick was arrested to appear in Navan court "later in the week".

Please support our people encamped on Rath Lugh. Basic food, in particular fresh fruit, is urgently needed. But also needed are candles, batteries, paraffin & paraffin lamps, and towels.

They have a camera on Rath Lugh, and they are doing a fine job with it, as can be seen on
http://www.tarapixie.net . But also check livevideo.com and youtube.com for direct action vids from Rath Lugh, Lismullin and other areas in the Gabhra Valley.

But it can't do any harm having a second camera on Rath Lugh as back-up. Therefore let's put it on the shopping list as well
