There will be a protest outside store street on the 9th June to mark the anniversary of the arrest that led to the death of Terence Wheelock. I will post more details when they are finalised
Justice for Terence Wheelock!
Stop Police Brutality!
Saturday 9th June
Meet @ 1pm @ Sean McDermot St. Church (2mins from O'Connell St.)
Protest at Store Street Garda Station
Terence Wheelock, a 20 year old young man from north inner city Dublin, died on the 16th September 2005 from injuries received in Garda custody. His family demand a Independent Public Enquiry into Terence’s death.
recent recommendations from amnesty international and other human rights organisations coupled with the evidence the family of the late terence wheelock have exposed, verifyed and backed up by forensic and patholigist experts, there is no doubt that this case merits and deserves an independent inquiry.
i for one cannot believe that in a western democratic (?) society can simply ignore the obvious that this young man was killed by unknown people in store st garda station.
i will be at the protest.
slan.
Surely it is a sign of our times when a family suffering the loss of one of its members from injuries he got in Garda costody, must launch a campaign to search for justice.
This sort of thing is beyond belief. Is not destroying evidence a crime in itself, a blatant cover up.
Is there not one single uniformed guard willing to break the wall of silence, or does Mc Doughall's gagging order intimidate them. They dont deserve to wear the uniform of 'Guardians Of The Peace'
