Last week the students of Queen's University in Belfast elected a member of the Sheena Campbell Ógra Shinn Féin Cumann, which is based in the Belfast University, onto the executive of Queen's Students Union. Michál Harkin was elected to the position of VP Education. For full story follow link: |

Jump To Comment: 1I think it was 1996 when the then "republican society" won the S.U presidents post for the first time.
The successfull candidate was a guy called McGarrity. Sinn Fein was nothing like the force they are today and he obviously reckoned he could have a better career elsewhere. So he jumped ships and joined the SDLP, bet he's sick now.
While we're on the subject how's about a reunion for the Republican society old guard, Father Henry, big Mickey etc. wee Darren is still in Portlaoise but i'm sure he would send his greetings.
