Up Coming VLPS Meetings in Tullamore & Letterkenny

category national | rights, freedoms and repression | event notice author Tuesday January 30, 2007 21:38author by LM - Victims of Legal Profession Society

Following two more successful meetings last week in Killarney and Manor Hamilton, two further meetings are planned. The First takes place in the Bridge Hotel, Tullamore on Wednesday 7th February at 8.00pm. The second meeting is organised for Letterkenny, Co Donegal on Mon 25th February at the Mount Errigal hotel at 8.00pm. The VLPS meetings allow people who have, or have had, problems with lawyers to meet up and share experiences and hear from others who are taking charge of their affairs themselves and taking the system on as lay litigants. People attending will get information on how to stand up to solicitors and will draw courage from John Gill who is shaking the "powers that be" out of their complacency or worse. All interested parties are welcome at VLPS meetings.

Every week this year, John Gill and VLPS members are active. Come to the meetings and learn about our aims and our actions and share your own ideas and experiences. In this election year VLPS is raising its campaign.

VLPS Aims are:
1. to have independent regulation of the legal professions
2. proper training for judges
3. A legal ombudsman to review "bad" cases
4. removal from the legal professions of those we know who have willfully destroyed or altered wills, contracts, title deeds, trusts or other documents trusted to their care.
5. removal from the legal professions of those we know who have perjured themselves with false affidavits
6. removal from the professions of those we know who abuse their priveledges and positions and access to inside information to illegally enrich themselves by stealing property or defrauding revenue commissioners.

The Minister for Justice is a leading lawyer himself.
Mr McDowell is a grandson of one of the founders of the state
Mr McDowell is Tanaiste

Minister McDowell's legacy will depend on whether the legal and justice systems are cleaned up or not, on his watch. The world is watching Minister McDowell.
