Modelled on the 'Take Back the Night Campaign'
Take Back the night was a campaign instigated by two women to do just that.
Reclaim women's Spaces and safety in cities and university campuses.
Take Back the Tech believes that violence Against Women occurs on the
internet because of unequal power relationships between women and men.
It's anti-patriarchial. Contributions are welcome from men who have also
suffered in Patriarchical systems- and there are many.
Today is the first day of the campaign. http://takebackthetech.net/blogathon.htm
People are being asked to commit sixteen days to using blogspaces to
highlight experiences of VAW online and use tech in any way possible
to highlight these issues.
So if you want to localise the campaign , there are online tips at

A reminder too- In Ireland , women's aid has also launched with amnesty
the sixteen shelters for sixteen days campaign- to highlight the good
work of women's aid and to draw attention to the lack of emergency
beds for victims of domestic abuse.
