This was sent to the IMC-Ireland list and is being reposted to the newswire
I have just read your article about the Salthill Airshow in Galway last weekend. You really do have some research team as most of the details of the report were far from correct. Firstly, there were not 100,000 people at the airshow, I would be surprised if there were more than 60,000. No F-15s participated in the airshow, there is no such thing as a "Hercules Helicopter" and the AC-130 is a gunship aircraft, not a bomber, a type of aircraft that has never landed in Ireland.
It really annoys me to see the amount of publicity that you were given over the airshow, considering the amount of people that attended the event and enjoyed it, I counted only 14 protesters on the day, hardly many supporters of your cause.
Ireland is indeed a neutral country and if ever attacked we would be praying for the USAF and RAF to come to our rescue. If it were not for the United States we could very well be speaking German now, there would still be ethnic cleansing in Kosovo, and the Taliban would still be terrorising and killing the citizens of Afghanistan.
I think you lot should go back to making daisy chains and painting Volkswagens in psycadelic colours, as you clearly have a very blinkered view of the world.
Environmentaly yours, Robert Fahy.
P.S.: I know you won't publish this article as you can dish it out, but not take it, probably why there is no email address on your site.
