The Raytheon Nine have a court appearance on 7 September. The Derry Anti-War Coalition is calling for a large and lively presence at the court to show support.
The Derry Anti War Coalition held a non-violent occupation of the Raytheon facility in Springtown on 9 August, in protest at the war crimes committed in the Middle East using weapons supplied by Raytheon. There is some evidence, for example, that it was a Raytheon Guided Bomb Unit which was used by the Israeli military in the atrocity in Qana in Lebanon and that many of the cluster bombs dropped on Southern Lebanon are connected to Raytheon. Nine of the protestors now face serious charges, with jail terms if they are convicted.
The Raytheon Nine have a court appearance on 7 September. The Derry Anti-War Coalition is calling for a large and lively presence at the court to show support. Take the morning off work, be at the Courthouse in Bishop Street from 9.30am and be prepared to sing, shout and make it clear that the nine were there in our name.
