Kay Mulhall, a Brigidine Sister who has recently returned after 17 years of working in Mexico in the social / pastoral field and with Basic Christian Communities, gives an account of overall situation in Mexico. She lived there through the Zapatista uprising, and more recently the electoral defeat of the PRI government, in power for over 70 years. She describes the euphoria over the change, followed by disappointment as economic and social policy showed no real evidence of change.
