A family-friendly day of culture, performances, urban sports, and street festivities is being held in Temple Bar, Dublin on this Saturday (June 17) from 10:00-18:00. All events are free and open to the public. Celebrate the Divers-city and help start something new.

A CELEBRATION OF DIVERSITY IN DUBLIN: CULTIVATE COMMUNITY FESTIVAL

On June 17th, in celebration of diversity in Dublin, “Cultivate Community”, Dublin's newest city centre festival will bring thousands of visitors to sample and enjoy a wide array of offerings from flowers and plants to multicultural presentations, artisan food, music, community organisations, and eco-goods.

Dublin has become a world city, with a rich diversity of peoples and cultures contributing to the population. Yet, the perception of Dublin has not kept up with the changing multicultural reality. June 17th is an opportunity to show the many faces of the city, and to celebrate the variety of peoples who now call this home.

The core of this amazing one-day, family friendly event will be the street fair, which will bring together community groups, NGOs and cultural societies in the streets of the Old City section of Temple Bar. Essex Street West will be pedestrianised for the day, to allow the placement of close to 100 stalls representing the horticulture, multi-culture, community and sustainable products sectors.

Activities include a skateboard ramp at the Civic Office Amphitheatre with demonstration from Ireland¹s leading skaters and BMX riders, a book fair, music, capoeira, street theatre and dance. Last but not least, face painters, jugglers and buskers and musicians will liven up the area with their arts.

This is definitely going to be the most vibrant event in town, showing the
cosmopolitan atmosphere we all enjoy in Dublin.

Based at the doorstep of Temple Bar, Cultivate is a new cultural centre for sustainable living and learning. At Cultivate you can find a learning centre featuring classes and workshops, seminars and lectures, an area dedicated to information and exhibitions and a shop with organic foods, books and all kinds of ecologically friendly products.
