Second Annual Religious Peace Conference for Blanchardstown
A co-worker of Dr. Martin Luther King Jnr., Dr. Elbert Ransom will be the key-note speaker at this year's conference with the courtesy of the American Embassy in Ireland who will fly him in especially for the event.
May 2006
The Inter-Faith Roundtable announces the 2nd Annual Religious Peace Conference, whose theme will be:

“Fundamentalism in Religion: Faith, Scope & Clarity”

The conference will address the uncomfortable questions where an intensity of belief collides with the realpolitik of living in contemporary society.

What is the interface between competing freedoms of belief & expression?
How can non-believers and believers co-exist peacefully?
Is the imposition of Democracy in a mono-faith society cultural imperialism or a cultural lifebuoy?
Can secular fundamentalism eradicate public spirituality?
Is the future of Fundamentalism a cartoon car-crash or an air-bag assimilation of Western values?
And much more.

The Conference will be opened by:
His Excellency Henrik Rée Iversen, Ambassador of Denmark,
and speakers include:
Dr. Elbert Ransom - a colleague of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jnr., human rights activist;
Prof. A.H. Palazzi – a pro-Israeli Muslim scholar;
Prof. Faisel al-Rafou – Director of the Jordanian Ghandi Institute and former Government Minister in Jordan;
Dr. Brendan Duddy SJ; Dr. Bill McSweeney, Dr. Andrew Pierce, Dr. Mark Dooley and many others.

The conference will be held on:
Saturday 10th June, 9.00am to 4.00pm at:
St. Brigid’s Community Centre, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.

"Dr. Elbert Ransom will be the key-note speaker at this year's conference with the courtesy of the American Embassy in Ireland who will fly him in especially for the event."

Soooo the good old US of A is paying for Elbert to attend. Dont expect him to be too critical of US Christian Fundamentalists. In fact anyone who is having his fare and accomodation paid for by the CIA (sorry State Department) is unlikely to be critical of anything the US does.

Dr.Bill McSweeney is also listed and he is very critical
of the Fundamentalist Culture of America. So it will be
interesting to hear the different views on that day.
I call upon you to come and witness this intellectual
debate.

Amazingly I was informed by Sheikh Dr.
Shaheed Satardien of the Interfaith Roundtable
that Dr.Elbert Ransom is not scheduled to speak
at the conference anymore
