Supporters meet as campaign opposing proposed relocation for St Patrick's Athletic builds up steam

Pats For Richmond, the St. Patrick's Athletic supporters' group recently formed with the objective of ensuring that the club remain in their traditional Inchicore home, have called a public meeting for all Pats fans.

The meeting will take place at 8pm on Thursday 4th May in St. Michael's Community Hall in Emmet Road, directly opposite the main entrance to Richmond Park.

The meeting follows the published response of the club's Board to an open letter sent to them by Pats For Richmond and also follows a meeting of the club's Patrons Scheme which was addressed by the Board earlier this week.

Chairman of Pats For Richmond, Dermot O'Hara, said: "In our original open letter, we stated that we felt we represented the views of the majority of Pats fans. The proof of this lies in the fact that since then, over 1400 people - including former Pats and Republic of Ireland manager, Brian Kerr - have signed a petition collected at home games, urging the Board to adopt a policy of developing Richmond Park as the club's home.

This represents over 75% of Pats' average home attendance this season. We want to provide a forum for as many Pats fans as possible to be able to express their opinions on this issue, which we will then convey to the Board. We are confident that democratic fan power can stop us being railroaded out of our home."
