Barronstown site defined as a National Monument.
In disallowed evidence during the course of a recent hearing on the subject of the Hill of Tara. Three experts signed affidavits that two disputed sites at Barronstown and Collierstown were national monuments. Barronstown is partially excavated, we are calling a protest at the site for 9th March at 10.30am. There are details of the bus timetable on the newswire.
If in the course of excavations a national monument is discovered , the Minister for the environment must invoke a section 14(a) 4. This involves a cessation of works, informing the director of the National museum that a monument had been discovered and ordering a nes EIS. This has not happened. Oral evidence indicating expert witnesses defining barronstown and Collierstown as national Monuments was disallowed in the case Of V Salafia Vs The NRA, Meath County Council and the state.
The site was chosen to highlight the lack of ethical management of the roads
programme. We are asking for people to come out and ensure that the message gets across.
10.30am @ The Hill of Tara Junction.
To Barronstown.
Meeting afterwards.
