Public lecture by Dr Muireann Ni Bhrolchain on Tara in Irish literature, National University of Ireland Maynooth, Co Kildare.
Dr Muireann Ni Bhrolchain will give a public lecture in the National University of Ireland Maynooth, Co Kildare on Wednesday,
22nd February at 7.30pm. The talk is organised by the Global Awareness Society in the University.
The venue is Theatre 1 in the New Arts Block, National University, Kilcock Road.
The title is
Heroes, Tara and the Gabhra Valley. She will discuss the central part that Tara, Skryne and the Gabhra Valley in between plays in the mythological, heroic and
historical literature of early Ireland.
The public are welcome and there is, of course, no admission fee.
For the past two years, Dr Ni Bhrolchain has been very active in the campaign to have the proposed M3 moved out of the Gabhra Valley.
She and Dr Edel Bhreathnach were instrumental in getting 350 academics from all over the world to sign a statement against the proposed route that was given to the Taoiseach and to the Minister for the Environment in May 2005.
