Bit surprised at Revolt Video for reccomending Michael O'Leary's outfit. The guy is the walking embodiment of market capitalism gone mad, completely anti workers rights, using his millions to buy advertising space in the mainstream media.

Aer Lingus might be a few quid more (answer: just drink less pints when you get to London) but at least you know the workers in the airport and on the planes are protected (however flimsily) by their unions.

You'd be surprised how many people dont seem to give a shit about flying Ryanair to summit protests, crust/diy festivals in Bradford or Scandanavia, activist gatherings or seminars, etc. Its unreal. Whats that crap antiwar slogan you see on posters and placards... 'fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity'. That's the same with Ryanair. You cant claim to be fighting against capitalism when at the same time you're putting money in their pockets. Especially when there's a unionised alternative on offer.

Of course, then there's the argument that ALL air travel is extremely damaging to the environment, and you should be going by boat to the UK instead. But - Irish Ferries! And all rail in the UK is privatised now too!! There's no escaping it!

(You can beat yourself up for ever about buying things that arent ethically sourced and so on, but I think Ryanair comes first when people should be making an informed decision. O'Leary is rabidly anti union and expresses it quite vociferously, that whole business with the pilots is unbelievable...)
