This morning an Italian judge in Milan issued 22 warrents for individuals thought to be CIA agents for their crimes under Italian law in the case of kidnap, unlawful imprisonment and "extra-ordinary rendition" of a former Milanes Iman Abu Omar.
It is only the second time since the beginning of the "war on terror" that a European judge has issued warrents of arraingment on US forces.
The 22 are accused of bringing the imam to Egypt where he was tortured in 2003.
The 22 whose names are so far not being publicised may now be arrested under Italian law anywhere outside of the USA. The warrents issued are "EU warrents". I presume that Gardaí and Airport police in Ireland will be obliged to keep an eye out for these 22 agents at Irish / EU facilities.
They thus join a growing list of "american fugitives" (sergeant Thomas Gibson, captain Philip Wolford lieutenant colonel Philip de Camp all wanted by Spain for killing TV man José Couso)
