Just a quick message to announce the formation of a new anarchist group, aimed at teenagers and students.
We have agreed to hold our first meeting on:
Saturday December 10th
at 1pm
in St. Nicolas of Myras (Francis Street).
For those who are not sure where that is, we will be meeting outside the Trinity College Gates at 12.30.
The day will be divided into three sections, including:
1) A quick/interesting introduction to anarchism. Also, a brief talk on the anarchist groups and the general state of anarchism in Ireland.
2) A screening of a number of radical films, highlighting previous actions both nationwide and globally.
3) An open meeting with the purpose of forming a youth based anarchist group.
Please do come along!

what's the point in youth movements exactly?
Is the work of the main [anarchist groups]* too adult or real to let young people get involved?
Is it so the youth wing (who always tend to be more idealistic and up for action) can tire themselves out?
Anarchists shy away from this sort of isolation between old and young and it works very well, you get a great mix of experience, optimism, knowledge and energy.

i think you could read those as being some of the reasons established anarchist groups haven't tried setting up youth groups. (though i don't think the person who wrote that comment isin any formal anarchist group).
But if people want to set up their own group and choose to identify with other young people who am I to challenge them?
Mind you you shouldn't go around quoting what one anarchist says as if it makes other anarchists hypocritical to disagree with it. Comments fields would fill up fairly quickly if that was applied to the different socialists
good luck guys.
How did it go?
It went great. 15 people turned up. 3 great talks were given. Watched a good movie. Decided on the date of the next meeting.
