![]() Women's soul-making has often been forged in the prism of male imagination. Now women in Ireland and beyond appear to be awakening from centuries of sleep. Where can we find the lost treasures of our spiritual heritage? How can we nourish divinity within ourselves? How can we sharpen our vision, gather our resources, and learn to discern between healthy and unhealthy ways of becoming divine? How do we forge new directions and holistic practices to pass onto future generations? How do we celebrate the landscape of woman-soul? In this course, through poetry, art, bodysoul work, music, ritual, meditation, myth, story, and dance, we will explore these issues in a challenging and supportive environment. |

that makes sexist assholes laugh at feminists....
The website asks "How can we nourish divinity within ourselves?"
I'm aware of that this sort of belief is more common in Eastern religions, but as the risk of sounding like a Doubting Thomas, it all sounds a bit far-fetched...
'Women's soul-making has often been forged in the prism of male imagination.'
The definition of soul has been made through a male perspective. We need to do it for ourselves. Self-evident.
'Now women in Ireland and beyond appear to be awakening from centuries of sleep.'
True
' Where can we find the lost treasures of our spiritual heritage?'
They've been annihilated. Millions of women burned as witches only a few hundred years ago in Europe, for instance. Female genital mutilation still going stroing in many places in the world. (Including the 'liberated' countries of Afghanistan and Iraq, in spite of promises to the contrary). Men still largely unable to discern the distinction between physical and intellectual strength, or the straightforward concept of different but equal roles. Why is a housewife and mother still largely regarded as an umimportant nobody in comparison, say, with the average company director? Which of the two does the more imporant job?
'How can we nourish divinity within ourselves?'
Good question. The idea of god as female is shocking to most people. By encouraging proper respect for the feminine role - not by aping men.
'How can we sharpen our vision, gather our resources, and learn to discern between healthy and unhealthy ways of becoming divine?'
See last response.
'How do we forge new directions and holistic practices to pass onto future generations?'
Be loud and proud. Demand our space. And above all ignore the sneerers. Attend teh course, anyone lucky enough to be able to get to it.
