Two years after it was first occupied

In August 2003 some anarchists, autonomists and punx fed up paying extortionate rents to greedy landlords (and working shitty precarious jobs to keep him fat) decided enough was enough and occupied a long derelict building on Leeson street.

The house was in a very bad way when they first occupied as it had been empty for over ten years. After months of hard work actually began to look quite pleasant, homely even..

The house was used for meetings, socialising, living space and organising. (although living space was the biggest priority).

Eventually the council came around and eviction notices were served, the pigs harrassed people going to and from the house and ultimately it was decided that everyone would leave.

And the corporation finally got their building back..

..so that two years after it was first occupied (a year and a half after the squatters left) it could sit empty once again.

Homeless people are dying on our streets - it's time we started thinking about "property" and whose city this actually is.

It's time to start thinking about property allright, definitely, and reclaiming it. Let's seriously start thinking about mobilising all efforts in reclaiming all that's ours.
