in 2000 the commission to inquire into child abuse act was passed by the Irish state hich gave more power to the Commission established in 1999 to investigate the abuse of children in the state.
It was one response to the "shock" in Irish society at the appaling level of child abuse which was found in the state from its foundation up to most recent times.
There are many institutions and religious care groups who are now the focus of attention for the astounding amount of accusation made of :-
* systematic abuse. physical, psychological and sexual.
At present it is the turn of the "christian brothers" a religious Roman Catholic organisation which was responsible for the education of many male children in the state including the premier and his brother and many leading politicians.
A representative of that organisation has told the commission that a "negative image" of the Artane Boys school was painted.

This will run and run.
& no doubt a movie will be made to further explain our country and its peculiar society to audiences the world round.
