in 2000 the commission to inquire into child abuse act was passed by the Irish state hich gave more power to the Commission established in 1999 to investigate the abuse of children in the state.
It was one response to the "shock" in Irish society at the appaling level of child abuse which was found in the state from its foundation up to most recent times.
There are many institutions and religious care groups who are now the focus of attention for the astounding amount of accusation made of :-
* systematic abuse. physical, psychological and sexual.
At present it is the turn of the "christian brothers" a religious Roman Catholic organisation which was responsible for the education of many male children in the state including the premier and his brother and many leading politicians.
A representative of that organisation has told the commission that a "negative image" of the Artane Boys school was painted.

This will run and run.
& no doubt a movie will be made to further explain our country and its peculiar society to audiences the world round.

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3as a survivor of child sex abuse I was in two catholic church institutions during the1970s, not one of those people who were involved in child sex abuse have been broughtto court
in fact the provincial of the Daughters of Charity told Justice Sean Ryan of the commission last year that the reason her congregation didn't offer a public apology to people who were residents in their institutions is that they could find no evidence of abuse taking place. yet the sisters witnessed children been seperated from their mothers screaming as children were left behind in the institution
The st John of God Brothers provincial statement was a disgrace to the commission last year, St john of God Brothers were involved in child sex abuse and physical abuse. St Augustines was residence for children with learning dificulties. also children with physical disabilities, children with no parents. today in 2005 there are ex students of St Augustines who were sexually abused as children living on the streets of Dublin. there are survivors of child abuse who dont know that they have rights to compensation. that ex students of Augustines have made complaints about staff and Brothers. I believe that if the truth came out about abuse of children with learning disabilities and physical disabilities in Agustines during the 1950s, 60, 70, 80, also cover up of murder of student by the order and garda those obnoxious bastards in Dail Eireann who were ex ministers of health and education would face criminal prosecution. Asking the elected members of Sinn fein to support survivors of child abuse has fallen on deaf ears by confronting that mc Dowell Kenny Rabbittee the only written correspondance from the Dail came from Finian Mc Grath Joe Higgins Joan Burton indeed certain other survivors who claim that they represent survivors who have licked to government ministers and media have alot to answer for.
to be shared with all employers whose workers are close to children. So called "soft information" would be held by the Gardaí (under new legislation) and form part of an equivalent to the UK's sex offenders' register.

A register will come to late for the hundreds of thousands of Irish victims of physical, psychological and sexual abuse who are still alive, some resident in the state many more now moved on and away.
Meanwhile a judge of the Eire state is reported at the centre of a child pornography investigation elsewhere on the newswire:-

this bastard Curtain was a candidate for the pds during the 90s messenger Harney and Mc Dowell could reveal more about this
let us not forget what a PD member said about survivors of child sex abuse September 2003 about the debate in the Dail about Justice Mary Laffoy resignation from the commission to investigate
quote from pd member that if survivors of child sex abuse think that they are going to be compensated from this government they should bring out a cd for christmas and name it burggered by Jaysus.
