plug in, tune in,
as more peoples work involves sitting all day at computers, more people are beginning to tune into top quality radio shows being put out by the global network of media activists.
there have been various real world discussions about how the current state of things is with the radical radio network, how it can become an extremely powerful tool for communication, education, interaction etc
so ill just post a few thoughts and links to audio files and id invite people to add any links they have, know about, like........

global:
G8 radical radio network
formed during the G8 protests, they put out live streams to keep people up to date with events as they occured on the ground, they also brought together many different radio activists from around the world and have created an extensive archive
an example:
at 8.00 am i was interviewed by a woman from the gambia, that interview went out live to some stations, the show was held on the server and through various techniques that show went out on 400+ local community radio stations, for many in remote parts of africa the radio is the tool to connect with the world
http://www.g8radio.net/
this interview went through the AMARC network
AMARC is an international non-governmental organization serving the community radio movement, with almost 3 000 members and associates in 110 countries.
and the african network was the SIMBANI network
http://www.simbani.amarc.org/page.php?content=info&type=info&num=1
"Simbani, which means «talk» in ChiChewa, a language spoken in Malawi, Zambia and Mozambique, is a coup for the community media sector in Africa and gives space to voices not usually heard in the media."

"Celebrate our Victory, Feel our Power, Build Radical Community, Be the Media
At the WTO protests in Seattle, we had a collective vision. We saw beyond the borders that divide us. We saw people come together across every kind of political and cultural difference and stand up in a way that we have not seen in this country for decades. We saw peaceful protests shut down one of the most powerful institutions in the world and we saw a system dazed and frightened by the sound of our voices.
People left Seattle energized, believing that they had taken part in the birth of a new movement. "
