Jerry Adams? Is that him in the above photo?
Doesn't his involvement destroy the grass roots movement that has the west awake? What the fuck? Sinn Féin's involvement is unnecessary and clouds the actual battle in this case. This is a community battle for the homeplace and an Irish battle to be free from corporate h(S)ell. Fuck off smiling Mr. Adams.
how exactly does the shinners involvement harm the campaign ? cant understand this section 31 type mentality .
im no fan of mr adams either by the way .
Well "loop loop" you are obviously non Irish, as every one knows that Mr Adams first name is written as 'Gerry' as short for Gearoid, so your use of 'Jerry' unmasks you as some brit or brit licking anti republican.
As Gerry is the leader of the majority of Irish nationalists in the occupied 6 counties and has 6 TD's in the free state and an MEP ( 500,000+ votes in total, called democracyin case you dont realise it) he has a large mandate to protest against the FF-PD sell out of our resources. Sinn Fein have campained against to cosy deals done when selling access to oil and gas exploration to mulit nationals for over 15 years. Think that entitles him to lead the protest. After all where are the establishment parties? In the pockets of Shell.
Beir bua SF, maith on fear Gearoid Mac Adaims.
Not a shinner either but from my observation of pickets, court protests etc, it has been mainly shinners and grassroots/anarchist activists that have done the real work on this campaign.
Bit ironic to see so many Labour banners in positions of prominence when they have done sweet fa to help the campaign other than cynical attempts by Rabbitte to hijack it.
Are those Labour members even aware that Rabbitte has refused to back the demands of the campaign because he doesn't want to embarrass that Kenny creature?
I have sat through some embarrassing displays by the Mayo footballers but I have never been so embarrassed to be from the same county as those creatures. And never so proud as to share my birth place with the Rossport men.

Not true at all both Tommy Broughan and Pat Rabbitte, visited the five also a lot of labour grass roots members have been involved in picketing statoil stations.
Fair play to those Labour members who have taken part in the campaign. The fact remains, however, that Rabbitte has refused to support the demands of the campaign and that is why he was not allowed speak on Saturday. He is also doing a lot of muddying the waters around the legal aspects making out that he is some sort of tribune for the men in jail.
I've been on three pickets of Shell and Statoil stations in Dublin. I've met Anarchists, Socialists, Communists and interested passers-by. I've met lots and lots of Shinners, who usually have posters, placards, leaflets and stickers. I have yet to meet a member of the Labour party.
