The 1st Inishowen Summer Gathering
The 1st Inishowen Summer Gathering is a new, vibrant way of celebrating our common Environment, Heritage and Community. A full programme is on our website www.inishowensummergathering.com Environment: A host of nature friendly innovations including solar and wind power, organic farming methods, natural building demonstrations, advice on tree planting, creating with natural materials and more!
Heritage: See skilled craft workers carve violins, weave hurdle fences & baskets & build dry stone walls. Demonstrations of traditional skills such as thatching, crochet, churning, spinning & beekeeping. Place names display.
Community: Inishowen's Parent Information Network is offering a meeting marquee for parents and a choice of activities for children.
The Health and Healing section will include massage, family first aid, reflexology, yoga, meditation and tai chi.
Lots of children's activities including crafts with clay and wood, music, nature walks, beach games & puppet shows, the WoW Wall of Wishes and handmade flags.
Music and storytelling, birds of prey, dancing, drumming, slide shows & a market place selling natural and local produce.
