Going to the g8 this summer?

category dublin | summit mobilisations | opinion/analysis author Tuesday June 14, 2005 19:37author by w - dissent - Dissentauthor email dissentireland at yahoo dot comauthor phone 0877412431 Report this post to the editors

The dissent long bus is now full and our short bus is filling up quickly.
If enough people get in touch with us we will try to run a 3rd bus.

Contrary to what an article in "the Sun" claims we are not profiting from these buses,
we aren't even making enough money to cover the costs of running them and are
subsidising costs for people who can't afford to pay €100 to go. If you are interested
in donating to help us out with this

Bank: Bank of Ireland
Branch: College Green
Branch Sort Code: 90-00-17
Acount Name: Dissent
Account Number: 92192918

Our 3 day trip which leaves on the 5th of July for the main day of blockades on the 6th is still
available.

How to get to the g8 from Ireland, if you can't get the dissent bus.

You can book a return ferry trip from Belfast to Stranraer for roughly €66.42 from this website
- http://www.directferries.co.uk/belfast_stranraer_ferry.htm

Once you arrive in Stranraer you can get a Coach or Train to Edinburgh. Details can be found on
- http://www.travelinescotland.com

Dont forget this Sunday from 11am at St Nicholas of Myra hall off Francis st Dissent day of training and discussion.

How would one get from prestwick airport to the place of the dissent protest?

author by sovietpop - wsm/dissentpublication date Wed Jun 15, 2005 13:52author email sovietpop at hotmail dot comauthor address author phone Report this post to the editors

There are a number of events from the first to the eight of July, some organised by Dissent, some by other groups. On this page you can see a list of them;

http://www.chekov.org/anarcho/newswire.php?story_id=699&language=en

The best way to participate in Dissent actions, would be to go to one of the Dissent convergence spaces; there will be one in Edinburgh and on in a rural space, but their location has not been finalised as of yet. Keep looking at the Dissent webpage to find out more details.

http://www.dissent.org.uk/

Transport will be a problem, but it should be easy enough to get a train from Preswick, to Glasgow and Edinburgh. Besides that you will probably end up taking local buses to the actions (unless you can link up with other activists who have cars/buses).

Well done to decent for filling the long bus!

If anyone wants to get a bus over from 1st to 3rd July (The Make Poverty History Protest). Contact info@irishantiwar.org.

As for the Sun well that kind of comment would be typical of them.
