Following the acquisition of St Catherine's Park (Lucan Demesne) as a nucleus of a Liffey Valley Park, and the successful implementation of the first stage of development and public access, consideration is now being actively given to making further progress.

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) Ireland Ltd has been recently appointed to undertake a feasibility study in relation to the further development of a Liffey Valley Park and to make recommendations on future operational management.

ERM is currently seeking submissions from all interested parties on any relevant issues,

Submissions should reach ERM before Friday, 24th June.

coincidently, today on google they have a certain theme to the name

it is to celebrate the birth of frank lloyd wright, a visionary US architect, he was big into the tao and one of my favourite quotes by him:
"if the day ever dawns when science, art and religion become as one, we will then have that which is missing today"
Date of Birth: 8 June 1867

http://www.prairiestyles.com/wright.htm

from that to "tao of physics" author fritjof capra, who set up the centre for ecoliteracy in berkley california,
http://www.ecoliteracy.org/about/board.html

http://web.ionsys.com/~remedy/TAO%20OF%20PHYSICS.htm

he talks about the paradigm shift which is underway in civilisation today, as we move toward a more holistic basis of life, all is spiritual

You'd love chicago, I wonder have you ever seen it, his architecture has a corner stone there, strange prairie houses and so so cheap to make. I must admit I put him in a big mathematical set with those of the Fordian school of social modeling however. From his launch in 1901 through all of it. "how to house the american homemaker" once all the space had been claimed...
You should check out "globalia" by Jean Christophe Rufin, a new take on dystopic urban environments published throughout Europe today, harhar, taurusexcretia, (it got its spanish translation today).

and build 10 story social housing!

Only joking! haha

That parks a slam-dunk of an idea - maximum points!

I'd leave religion out and perhaps just have spiritual in there in the equation since religion can be so oppressive.

films to watch about future plans for city, especially the "gateway" area around heuston; bridging IMMA to the park, city endpoint, high rise building to act as city landmark, not too much discussion about the liffey valley park, not much discussion about the canals

at recent velo city conference, one thing which seemed might happen is to make inside the canals a 30km max speed zone, possible first stage for ideal of fully car free zone inside canals?

The Dublin Urban Forum for Sustainable Development
The Dublin Urban Forum for Sustainable Development is a member of a European network set up by the European Commission, to explain and promote EU policies that relate to the sustainable development of urban environments throughout Europe. The Dublin Forum is hosted by Planning and Environmental Policy and the Environmental Institute in UCD. There are currently 21 Forums located in cities across Europe which act as relays: they obtain information directly from the European Commission, adapt it to the needs and circumstances of their particular city and pass it on to the operators and individuals with whom they are in contact. Various members of the network are involved in projects with eachother and there is a general meeting annually.
