there were 2000+ for the docklands cycle
there was a bit of a dispute with us going ahead with the greenway cycle
eventually i managed to get in and to talk with a few people

shame more local activists werent part of conference
more debate between all city road users would have been great, taxi drivers, walkers, lorry drivers.....

Last week, Maiken Larsen interviewed a visitor from Rome who had just found out about the fascist attacks on the social centre there. Cops took two hours to arrive, and collusion suspected.

This morning, Friday (9-10 a.m.), Maiken interviews an irish woman who's just come back from making radio documentaries in Bolivia (to be broadcast on Near FM over the summer), and another Irish-woman on the dangerous toxins emitted by plastics and detergents which are not being addressed by the corporate sector.

I'd put it as a new Events post if i'd more details, but it was great listening to the live broadcast yesterday.

think the time is right for an indymedia workshop on free audio software distribution, the workings of the imc-radio network and collaboration with other audio heads; getting their material online and hopefully getting more imc-stuff onto local community based radio
i know that in the group theres near, dublin south, dublin 8 radio
any ideas on when is best, where etc, is there interest in it?

this idea was muted at the forum and i just see on rte. news that the speed change is coming in due to cyclists deaths..

"A reduced speed limit of 30km/h for motorists in Dublin is to be introduced by the city council.

The introduction of the limit, down from the present 50km/h, is imminent and other cities are likely to follow suit.

The radically reduced speed limit is understood to be part of a new initiative to prevent the deaths of cyclists and pedestrians...."
