Petition Launched to Kill the Bill

An Online petition has been set up as part of a campaign against the Criminal Justice Bill. If introduced it will allow for the gardai to issue on the spot fines for whatever reason they deem fit and the only evidence that he or she needs in support is his or her subjective opinion that that person is in breach of the law. The person will have to pay up within a certain time period regardless of whether they are guilty or not.

This drachonian piece of legislation which has root to the criminalisation of protest and non violent direct action, and will disproportionatley affect students and young people must be opposed. Please sign this petition using the link provided.
