FEAST OF INNOCENTS-RESIST THE WAR!
*WHEN Tuesday Dec 28th. 12Noon
*WHERE Nativity Scene-O'Connel St.
*BRING Photos and symbols of the suffering of the children in Iraq
*WHY GATHER
In a spirit of reclaiming the radical Christmas story from coroporate consumerism & to continue to confront Irish complicity in the ongoing slaughter of the innocents in Iraq,

It is not an accident that the Feast of the Massacre of the Innocents follows so close upon Christmas: the two are deeply interconnected. The Christ child is only half a story - a full reading confronts us with not only the joy and promise of Christmas, but its cost and its redemptive agony.

That the empire has called a census for reasons of imperial control & ongoing counter-insurgency. That Herod, like Bertie, plays the role of hireling for the empire's agenda. That the Maji commit civil disobedience after being instructed to provide intelligence for a search and destroy mission. That we continue to provide Shannon Airport as a pit stop for the U.S. war machine. That anti-war resisters await trial & sanction in Dublin That when Herod moves in the wake of perceived threat to the imperial stucture, children die in great numbers. That this slaughter of the innocents continues in Fallujah & throughout Iraq is self evident whether through cluster bomb or starvation a policy. That our silence in the face of ongoing Irish complicity makes us complicit.
