Wednesday 15th Sept at 8pm, in School Hall, St Attracta's, Ballinteer

After 30+ years the DFRC swimming pool in Dundrum / Ballinteer closed on July 15th. We are holding this public meeting to kick start the campaign to get a new pool built.

In 1999 residents in the area were promised a new swimming pool for the Millenium. We were pomised funding was in place and construction would soon begin....

Now we are told there is not enough money to build it.

The public meeting will be held on Wednesday 15th Sept at 8pm in the hall of St Attracta's junior school in Ballinteer which is next door to the (Dundrum Family Recreation Centre) DFRC swimming pool.

Please encourage your neighbours and friends to attend this meeting and help get the campaign started.

This meeting was well attended. There were probably between 250 to 300 people present and the mood overall was quite angry at the politicians, especially since they said they had no extra funding to bridge the gap in the shortfall and in light of the fact that over 10 million euro is being spent on a sports/gym complex in Leinster House (at taxpayers expense), that over 52 million euro was wasted on electronic voting which has been junked and so on.

There were 3 TDs present and at least 6 or 7 councillors from Dun Laoghaire Rathdown.

For more details see the press release issued on Sept 16th at the URL below.
