category international | anti-war / imperialism | news report author Friday June 25, 2004 13:38author by Maggie - Global Women's Strikeauthor phone 087 7838688

As a result of the first message of support from the South African Anti-War Coalition and the Palestine Solidarity Committee, the Global Women's Strike in Ireland has received further messages of support for the Bush protests from South Africa, Manila, Bangkok, Mumbai and Greece. More will follow from the USA tonight.

To Maggie and our friends and comrades in Eire/Northern Ireland

As members of the Anti-War Coalition (AWC) in South Africa, close friends and comrades of the Workers' Solidarity Movement (WSM) and other anti-war activists in your counties, and close friends and comrades with a veteran of the anarchist anti-Ba'athist struggles in Iraq in the 1970s and the anti-monarchist, anti-clerical strain of the Iranian Revolution of 1978-79, we fully endorse the AWC statement below.

The direct actions of people like Mary Kelly have been an inspiration to us all, though we do not require reliance on the Nuremburg principles to underscore the common humanity we share with those suffering at the sharp end of US/UK oil-driven expansionism.
We are with you in spirit as you prepare to conve rge on Shannon to oppose Bush, in defiance of the "proper" anti-war movements which, we have heard, are attempting to divert such direct action into futile marches in far-removed places like Dublin and Belfast. Take care, stand together and watch each other's backs.

red & black regards

Dear Maggie: Please find below our letter of solidarity with Mary Kelly and the Irish anti-war movement:

Focus on the Global South, a research and advocacy center with offices in Manila, Bangkok, and Mumbai, calls upon the Irish authorities to uphold justice by declaring Mary Kelly innocent of the charges and instead condemning as illegal and immoral the action against which Ms Kelly was protesting -- the invasion of Iraq. We call on the Irish people to inspire the world with their devotion to freedom and independence by giving the one man determined to deny freedom and independence to the Iraqis, US President George Bush, the only appropriate welcome there is -- a massive protest. In solidarity Herbert Docena, Focus on the Global South

SOLIDARITY TO MARY KELLY
PUT BUSH, BLAIR, SHARON IN JAIL

Stop The War Coalition supports Mary Kelly. Civil disobedience against war machine is an integral component of our mass international antiwar movement that tries to stop war criminals like Bush, Blair and Sharon to kill thousand innocent children and civilians in Iraq and Palestine.
Our tribunal against warmongers is the only institution that has approval from millions all over the planet to express the real feelings for justice and peace of the immense majority. Their courts are not even legalized in the eyes of this majority to question and judge on our antiwar and peace actions.
Put Bush, Blair, Sharon in prison, NOT activist of peace Mary Kelly!
On 26th of June we demonstrate in Athens in solidarity with demonstrators in Dublin against “our” rulers that support occupation of Iraq. We will express our solidarity to Mary Kelly for her figth for freedom.

In New York we are all behind your Shannon protest of our illegal head-of-state usurper!

www.campshutdown.com officially endorses all of Ireland's resistance to our illegal head-of-state usurper!
