Another e-voting scam emerges
In August, the people of Venezula will excercise their constitutional right to a recall referendum on the presidency of Charvez, hero to some, villian and dictator to others.
This recall referendum will be of interesting as it will see the first full scale use of e-voting in Latin America.
The election will be run through touch screen computers with no paper trail.
The software has yet to be tested and has never been used in any election before, not even in the local elections.
The company running it is a group of Venezualans operating from an apartment in Florida.
This company is partially owned by the Venezuluan government, which has appointed partisan members to the board of the company.
Some how I cannot see Charvez losing this one

that's really top work. I'd be proud of myself if I wrote a line like that. Almost competes with "the Germans have tied the sisters of mercy to the hammers and using them to sound the bells of Bruges",1914 Daily Mail.

With all the talk of exposing propaganda people seem to have forgotten the real atrocities that occurred in Belgium during WWI:

But just as we experienced in Ireland with the Nice referendum the laws of the market will dictate that the Venezuelans will have to keep on voting until they get it right (wing).
Even if they do get a referendum Chavez will win comfortably.
Is it just me but why is the voting run from Florida!a certain American politican may have an influnence
did Bertie & co sell the electronic voting machines to venezeula?

This posting is a load of rubbish, opinion polls show that Chavez has huge support especially among the working class and poor. The right wing CIA backed 'opposition' are using this crap about the referendum being rigged as a pretext for a coup. If anything it is the right wing plotters that have rigged the electoral process, already thousands and thousands of the signitures that triggered the referendum have been found to be invalid and fraudulantly obtained.
Chavez should be defended however it is not just enough for the people of Venezuala to simply vote against the referendum, whatever happens in the referendum the rightwing want to get Chavez out and they will use any means they feel necessary including another coup. The Venezualan people need to learn the lessons of Chile in 1973, Chavez must implement his promises to arm the people. The right wing CIA backed plotters must be defeated through putting the large industries under the ownership and control of the working class and links need to be made with the working class throughout America including the USA
