On 3rd February 2003, as part of ongoing nonviolent resistance at Shannon Airport, the
Pitstop ploughshares disarmed a US nAVY warplane. Within the month, three of
the four companies contracted to ferry US troops and weapons had left
Ireland.

The Pitstop ploughshares are currently out on bail. Their trial has been
moved to Dublin and will proabaly take place in October 2004

There will be a benefit gig for the Pit Stop ploughshares Defence Fund at
Mother Redcaps (nr. Christchurch) on Tuesday June 8th. (8.30 pm - late)

O'Toole and Afro-Celtic music.

3 MARY KELLY'S DISARMAMENT TRIAL BEGINS IN COUNTY CLARE, JUNE 15TH

Five days before our ploughshares action, Mary Kelly had disabled the same
plane.
Mary faces a retrial in Ennis, Co. Clare from June 15th, 2004.
She received a hung jury in her initial trial at Kilrush Circuit court last
Summer.

Please visit her webpage and offer any solidarity you can to a courageous
woman who faces serious jail time if convicted of 'criminal damage'.

Advocates of Mary's action and who testifed in court last summer included
Dennis Halliday (former UN Humanitarian Aid Co-ordinator), Scott Ritter
(former UN weapons inspector in Iraq), Ramsey Clarke (former US Attorney
general under Kennedy/Johnson), and Michael Bermingham (Irish peace activist
who has lived in Iraq over the last 18 months)

6. CAOIMHE BUTTERLY STAGING A 14 DAY FAST OUTSIDE CRH HEADQUARTERS, FITZWILLIAMS SQUARE, DUBLIN. *BEGINS JUNE 9TH.

Caoimhe Butterly has spent time as a peace & solidarity activist in Palestine and was shot in the leg for her troubles. Caoimhe is staging a fast outside the headquarters of CRH, an Irish company providing concrete for the Apartheid Wall in Palestine. Consider spending time with Caoimhe on the vigil. Gig was great...... Many thanx to Paul, Pat, Brian & Kila Crew.

About 140 folks turned up for a great night.

Crowd was about 50/50 Irish/non-Irish, more alternative lifestylers than poltical lefties.
