VOTE NO VAT for charities

I would strongly encourage people to sign this online petition. VOTE NO VAT for charities at: www.vatcampaign.com Every year charities pay €63 million in VAT. Money that could be much better spent on the people and services that need it most. We need our VAT back – and you can help! Please take 2 minutes to sign our online petition at www.vatcampaign.com. You'll join thousands of people in Ireland who feel strongly that charity should go to those who need it most. Not the taxman.

Do charities actually work? what is the point of working for charities when they do not attack the causes for poverty etc.?

Some may say that at least they alleviate the suffering of those in need, this is correct. But you must look at the long term, by sowing illusions in charities you misplace peoples consciousness. THe problems of society are caused by capitalism and can only be prevented by ordinary people moving into struggle and bringing about socialism, it is not easy but this is the only way to end poverty.
