Coke Water in cancer scare

category international | consumer issues | news report author Saturday March 20, 2004 19:58author by Cian

An article published in a London newspaper has revealed a link between Coke's new water product in England and cancer. The product has already been subject to controversy as it was revealed that Coke planned to sell "tap water" at premium prices.

Coca-Cola has recalled every bottle of its controversial "pure"
mineral water Dasani in a cancer scare.

It came after the 95p bottles of water were found to be contaminated
with illegal levels of bromate, a potentially cancer causing
chemical.

Coca-Cola said all 500,000 bottles of the carbonated water, which is
drawn from public water supplies in Sidcup, will be cleared from
stores within 24 hours.

Shhhhhh. Keep it quiet. Don't let Dublin City Council find out that Coke were selling bottles of water for 95p (and not even good water at that). The DCC would jump at any opportunity to make a few bob. They would even tax the air if they thought they could get away with it.
Personally, I prefer the wee dropeen of Poitin myself.
