.

Dear friends I send this e-mail in a personal capacity to let persons know the reasons for the upcoming meeting to be held next Tuesday March 16th at 7.30 at the unemployed resource centre in Belfast {next to the John Hewitt bar}. The purpose and discussion of the meeting is to provide support and solidarity to a possible candidate in the fore coming European elections. This to provide a non communal alternative in the elections. Many of us have been involved in the anti globalisation, anti war and anti racism campaigns as well as being involved in campaigns against low pay, water charges and other forms of privatisation to name but a few. Eamonn Mc Can will hopefully stand as a candidate for the Socialist Environmental Alliance in the elections, with the SEA rising and providing solidarity on many of these issues. . These elections will provide many of us who have been involved in many grassroots campaigns and who want to see an alternative to the communal politics a chance to tie many of these issues together and to give persons a chance to vote on issues that really effect their daily lives This intervention is not an issue of sole electoralism but hopefully in participating and using the electoral platform many more will be able to see and respond to a non communal alternative. Therefore in doing so they to then may get involved in many of the such non communal grassroots issues that effect our daily lives and in which many of us are involved in. I hope to see you there and would ask you to take the opportunity to circulate and invite others along to this important meeting. The SEA, its manifesto and much more can be found on the Socialist Environmental Alliance website via goggle search. Regards Davy Carlin.

Mr. Carlin,

I understand that you (S.E.A) have agreed to support political prisoners at an organising convention for SEA in Derry recently.

By whom do you consider to be 'political' prisoners?

Can you enlighten the public on this?

Kathy Ann
