It's a pity that people like Zap are so hasty to blacken the names of people about whom they seem to know nothing. Does he not know that Ingrid Betancourt has repeatedly refused the government's wishes to exchange her for colombian soldiers? Does he not know that she refuses to be a bargaining tool between two corrupt organisations, FARC and the Colombian government? Or that she has spent her life fighting against the "regime" in her country that Zap thinks she's a part of? That she was elected to congress with the highest number of votes in the history of the republic? That a few years ago she went on hunger strike inside the parliment for weeks to highlight the corruption present in the government? That she has been basically pissed on by the successive leaders of this "regime", from Samper to Pastrana and now with Uribe? OR THAT SHE'S ON A SHORTLIST FOR THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE? I have lived in Colombia for over a year and i can tell you that Ingrid Betancourt is a good person, a real leader, and when she is released, when she is elected as president, when she is given all the accolades that she truly deserves, then maybe Zap will praise her name with the same haste and publicity with which he has besmerched it.
