Friday the 13th: Nightmare on Dame st

Before the recent European summit in Dublin the idea was floated that there should be some sort of public presence pointing out that European was being carried out in a way that excluded the bulk of the population of Europe and the rest of the world. This was never organised properly but on Fri. 13th November a few groups did turn up at the central bank. What happened next says a lot about what sort of Europe the elite are constructing

When the night arrived and Dame Street turned on the street lights the Irish Mexico Group plus other movements like the Cuba Support Group, Colombian Network, Scheme Workers Alliance, East Timor representatives and Senideak Gureak gathered at the Central Bank.

A few meters away, in Dublin Castle, all the big European heads were gathered to discuss all those things that don't let us sleep : the design of the Euro; European security (???); how to make sure the different members couldn't "overspend" in times of "minor" crises.

In the quiet, blockaded street we were ready to express our opposition and to explain to the few pedestrians about the consequences of the summit. Some banners and a stereo playing music spoke for us.

And it happens again : lots of fluorescent bodies started to approach us . Finally we got a complete line of aliens standing in front of us. The Special Branch was there as well insisting that we could not stop in the middle of the street. The demonstration turned into a policeman's ball and attracted everybody's attention : What are all these vans and gardai doing in front of some silent people peacefully holding some banners ?

Maybe this was the best way to let the European heads know that somebody is aware of the nightmare and trying to say something about it !
