"How can the Jews who suffered and survived the Holocaust allow themselves to resort to such means"
The Israeli cabinet has decided to continue with the construction of a new section of the apartheid wall despite the publication of a United Nations report which said the barrier was illegal and tantamount to what it called an unlawful act of annexation.
Sharon and his government of thugs continue to ignore opinion at home and abroad, and this latest development comes against the background of important statements from Marwan Barghouti and Shimon Peres.
Mr. Barghouti was very critical of the Israeli state saying:
"How can the Jews who suffered and survived the Holocaust allow themselves to resort to such insufferable and unacceptable means against another people?"
Marwan Barghouti said at the summing up in his trial that if the Israelis do not offer Palestinians an independent homeland they will have to expand their own state to affoard Palestinians euqal rights:
"I hope the Israelis have learned that the Palestinian people can not be brought to yield with force. If an occupation does not end unilaterally or through negotiations then there is only one solution, one state for two people.
Shimon Peres in an interview with the Guardian said that he and the majority of Israelis believe in a two-state solution:
'One state would mean two people at war. Better to have two states and no war,' he said.
