The first edition of the Islamic community of Ireland's newspaper is launched.
Serving the 25,000 Muslims who live in all Ireland "The Friday Times" will be distributed on a fortnightly basis at Islamic information centres, Halal shops and other concentration points of the Irish Islamic community.
"The Friday Times" reports that it seen a lot of interest in advertising with it being shown from many Islamic business holders.
Initially the staff of "The Friday Times" will have to hold two jobs till the paper becomes a going concern.

"The Friday Times" aims to inform both members of the Islamic community and the general Irish population of issues affecting Irish Muslims.
