Public Meeting in the Atlanta Hotel.
Wednesday the 18th of June, 8pm sharp.

The theme of the meeting is on the necessity of giving support to people who are arrested, charged, injured or imprisoned during demonstrations, direct actions, or other forms of dissent.

Featuring: Deirdre Clancy, one of the Ploughshares/Catholic Worker Five who disarmed a U.S. war plane in Shannon in February. Deirdre, together with her four colleagues and many other people on similar charges, has been banned from county Clare. The five face a maximum of ten years imprisonment if convicted, and are on trial in Kilrush on June 24th. They are going to the courtroom via a 3 day peace walk through Clare.

Also featuring Donagh Davis, an activist with Gluaiseacht, the island wide ecology network, who has recently returned from the demonstrations against the G8 Summit in Evian. He took part in a blockade of a bridge on one of the roads to the summit place, and was subsequently arrested.
This was the action in which an English demonstrator, Martin Shaw, was critically injured as a result of police action.
