Eco-campers wanted
Work on Murphy's Quarry in the Glen Valley, Cork City has halted temporarily for reasons that are unclear but probably linked to the harassment of developers, planning officials and politicians that occurred after the story broke. Massive thanks to all who took the time to do something. We count this as a temporary victory because work will quite likely begin again and this issue is only one in the Glen River Valley which forms a valuable natural corridor running into the city that is under pressure from development. We need people to visit and get involved. Ideally we need a core group who would be willing to camp in the valley and act as a focus for the goodwill and awareness that our campaign has generated. Not just a protest camp but one that would act positively to begin the restoration of the valley. Please contact us. Thanks

News has reached us that the contractors McSweeneys are back with their digger and have started to demolish what remains of the western sandbank.
Cork City Council, Duchas, and the rest have done little or nothing and the so-called truce has proved to be very temporary.
