I think you re absolutely right.your average american is a nice as the next bloke or human being (i.e. female ) BUT IF YOU LOOK AT WHOM THE us MAJORITY NOW SUPPORTS ( UP TO 70 %) ITS SCARY: EVRYTHING THROWN AT US OVER THE LAST MONTHS HAS BEEN A LIE: there are no WMDs in Iraq,there IS no multilateral internationally agreed after-the war rebuilding-of Iraq- approach or humanitarian efforts coordinated, they ARE bombing civilians with cluster boms, lies and propagande HAVE been spread by the U>S> ( and they get caught out the day after...)( they are taking the mickey !)and IT IS about greed for oil and nothing else. and syria and Iran and ...and ..and are going to be invaded next .and there doesn t seem to be any stopping them.It s so scary !!!
Another american here who had to leave ten years ago for the sake of my safety and sanity. Wasichu is dead right don't dare excuse the Amerikans as a nation. Sure they smile at you a make nicey, nicey talk but very few veiw the American way of life as damaging to the environment, human rights (home and abroad), the sovereignity of all it's neighbors (save perhaps Canada), etc. etc. Not only will many disagree on all these points they will do so not on a position of ideological or religious difference of a well informed thoughtful person (be they conservative or liberal) but out of pure blissful ignorance, the type of ignorance that only those who live well in an imperial state can display. The truely held convinction that their way of life is supreme in every way to the rest of the world and you should thank us all and say please sir can I have some more when we try to stuff Americanism down your throats. Now don't get me wrong, by no means is this confined to America. America, unfortunetly is a state of mind. Look at the PD's and all their filthy, greedy, mean little supporters for example. Given half the chance they'd fuck everyone on state support out into the streets to fend for themselves (actually that is exactly what they are doing). So amerika hasn't a monopoly on capitalist profitmongering. I certainly encourage people to have an open mind and not prejudge as there are many amazing Americans. But as an american I would in no way be offended by any so called anti-american statement I've ever heard cause in the main they are generally correct. So wear your anti-amerikanism with pride, I do.

Your title is wrong. I am an American in the heartland I have pretty good feeling on what is going to be necessary.
Truth is the key. The majority of the USA must be told how far off it is from what is necessary for global peace and economic cooperation.
You want to spare their feelings? Believe me they don't care about your feelings or the lives of Third World people in general.
You are not doing anyone any favors. You are just slowing down what has to happen.
It is the American voters who tolerate and elect the scum that are in control of the America government and its foreign policy..
