Interview with Pentagon Papers Whistleblower - Daniel Ellsberg
Ellsberg Interview : Interesting : http://www.busybusybusy.com/b3_arc_03_0324_annex_2.shtml Found this via the most excellent http://www.guerrillanews.com/
BROWN: Mr. Ellsberg, it's good to see you again sir.
The Iraqi political strategy is in large part to use the anti-war demonstrations around the world to create political pressure on the coalition governments to stand down, cease fire and stop the war. In that regard, are you playing into the hands of what I think you would even acknowledge is a very bad regime.
ELLSBERG: Certainly a very bad regime. Whose judgment were you just describing, that that's Saddam's strategy? I don't know what his strategy is, do you?

Jump To Comment: 1 2War is playing to saddams hands. The likes of Bush/blair are playing into saddams hands, by waging an agressive war against iraqi civillians, they are effectively killing off iraqi civillans who would have protested against saddam. Too late now, though once you've bombed the fuk out of the civillian population they inevitably be forced to side with saddam who says he is fighting for them.
Its a weak form of emotional blackmail to say that saddam is encouraged by worldwide anti-war sentiment. It is actions such as bombing and hollow 'liberations' that stick in peoples minds. It is the perpetual driving down of a people and the 'war games' of right-wing monkeys that represent all that is wrong in the eyes of many in the arab world that drives people to desperation. it is the people of Iraq that we are concerened about and we feel that history has to teach us lessons - lessons that need to be learned. the concept of might is right and fire fighting fire should no longer follow through. We in this country only have to look at ourselves to begin to understand.
