I find it hard to see that the Anarchist cameramen (so called hardened revolutionaries) only ever publish pictures of the most fluffy liberal types and their posters, placards etc.

Lets face it the Political Parties do have the most lively and interesting contingents on the anti-war demos, yet no pics of the SP and SWP

Fluffys make better banners - origional not mass produced stuff
Anachist cameraman? - How do you know?

interesting assumptions.

I didn't take these pictures, but i try to get photos of both a diversity of groups and diverity of signs.

The thing is, we've all seen the SWP/SP/SF/etcetc signs so when someone does something creative, it seems newsworthy.

The creativity of ordinary people is always more interesting than the politically correct, committee approved mass printed posters for the masses, sorry.

A Typical SWP whinge about not being centre of attention all the time, as for calling un-aligned participants in the march fluffy liberals - you condescending arsehole. The only fluffy liberals around are the SWP for fuck's sake.

It's easy to spot (most) trot photos here because they are basically shots of their party's banner and their party's placards from a variety of views. Of course everyone reckons they are the most fascinating thing in the world but actually this photos are generally boring in part BECAUSE you could take that set of pictures on any one demo and then just keep posting them year after year. Well I guess you'd need to change the wording on the placards every now and again if not the typeface or layout.

As a photograper of demos one of the things I've noticed is the SP, SWP, SF and GP josteling to be 'at the front' of the demo so that their placards will appear in the papers. This has become really stupid now. On Day X SF formed a block at the front about 30 mins before the march left the US embassy for the British embassy. On Saturday the SWP put themselves on the road at the bottom of Parnell st about 30 minutes before the march left.

To any thinking person this looks like the sort of cynical 'branding' almost all mainstream political parties get up. Far from making you look good it makes you look like your placement matters more then whatever the cause is this week.

Finally you only the most lively if you imagine that the same old chants of 'One solution, revolution' on demonstration after demonstration is lively. From the outside it just looks mechanical after the first couple of times. Identical banners, identical placards, identical chants is the opposite of interesting.

No photos of that tosser with the racist poster about the 'Irish Hoping for the safe return of British troops in body bags'...I wouldn't mind seeing you dropped out of a plane over Baghdad...

You really cruelly disected his argument, with your iron dialectic there. Which is more sectarian pointing out something that anybody who has ever been at a protest knows is pretty accurate or jostling for position at the front of the march? Not to mention posting comments on the internet that merely say 'blah...'. I take it that the SWP are tired of talk and want action then?

Oh, the comment about British troops coming home in bodybags is not racist. As an anti-imperialist I hope the paras, SAS and the RIR are wiped out - self selecting imperialist scum that they are.

Really cracked me up.

"Lets face it the Political Parties do have the most lively and interesting contingents on the anti-war demos, yet no pics of the SP and SWP"

The trots also have the best social lives, most relaxed personalities and most engaging, open minded debates, most inventive and original practice, least dogma, and to top it all off yer regular che guevaras when it comes to attractiveness and bedroom action. If all of this doesn't strike you as obvious, simply douse your brain in liberal quantities of 'Lenin brand' brainwash, leave to stew for a few years, sell a few hundred papers, go to a few meetings where identical simplistic slogans are repeated endlessly and it'll suddenly be crystal clear.

I mention a lack of imagination and mechanic behaviour and get a long list of blah, blahs to illustrate the point! I think that is what you call a tantrum - people who demand they should be the centre of attention are prone to them.

The trots are also better looking, better dressed, smell better, get more chicks, and are just the dreamest hunks around.

Gee one day I hope I'm cool enough to be in your gang.

Get to fuck, I chant SWP slogans to help me get to sleep at night, and I shit out better banners and posters than the shite you try to ram in my face.
