The Americans and British will lose this war and their invasion will be a humilating failure.

They may kill tens of thousands of Iraqis, they may occupy all of Baghdad, they may kill Saddam Hussain. They will likely declare themselves a hollow victory of sorts. But they will be seen to be the losers.

They will only take the towns and cities after street-to-street fighting in an unfamiliar city amidst a population who hates them as invaders - all will contribute to a long, bloody mess.

While in Iraq they will have to watch their backs constantly. Snipers, suicide bombers, and booby traps will be constant. They will be spat upon by old ladies and have stones thrown at them by children.

It will be like Grozny, like Lebanon, like Vietnam, like Northern Ireland.

And all the while the economy will continue to decay. And America will become more and more despised - both by the world and by a growing number of its own citizens.

Bush, Rumseld and the handfull of neo-conservative nationalists who are controlling American foreign policy have led America into a nightmare. By believing their own hype, their own hubris and their own propoganda they thought themselves invincible - like the dot com millionaires and other super-egotists did. Now many thousands of American and Iraqi lives will be lost as their fantasy encounters reality.

America will be humiliated before the world and will withdraw from its illegal invasion in defeat and in shame.

...and they will not have any sympathy except from a few of the monsters they have installed in various countries. Plus, all oppressed people will know that the usa is not the invincible monolith it was previously seen as.

It's good to see a business man take a stand on something and make such a bold statement.

'We Have The Blood Of Iraqi Children On Our Hands' is a harsh fact that all of us have to face up to. Though some of us have to take more responibility for it than others.

Eloquent statement. Though I dont't know about the cogency of all the predictions.

And don't focus on the neo-cons. The ruling class here is dedicated to world dominance to bolster the profits no matter the specific strategy.

Carter paved the way for the low-intensity conflicts that suppressed the Central American revolutionary movements.

In a sense, the system itself is what is driving them into these mad adventures.
