Historic Sitdown Protest in Cork.

Mass Sitdown In Patrick Street. Today during the anti-war march we had a sitdown protest in Patrick Street extanding from one end of the street to the other! It Was well attended. We estimate 3000 or so. Some speeches were made outside the Fianna Fail office on the Grand Parade which had been occupied earlier this morning. The Gardai seized money which we had been collecting for the antiwar campaign here in Cork.

Sitdown - Fantastic!

Do gardai have the right to do this? Did they get much off ye? Will ye be trying to get it back?

Feckin' disgrace.

I Underestimated the numbers on the Cork March and SitDown Protest. Between 4000 and 5000 took part.

Can we apply to the Superintendent individually to have our money returned to us?

Not since Cork was burned by the Black&Tans had there been such a momentous event as the recapture of Patrick Street by the people...
