or: What was this thing flying over Dunboyne?
Strange plane spotted approaching Dublin Airport on March 18th - Dublin as a stop-over for US war effort?
Around 1730 GMT a strange plane was spotted over Dunboyne (Co. Meath), flying at extreme low level and apparently on course for Dublin Airport.
The plane seemed to be a C-130 Hercules transport plane, normally used for military operations. Colour was white all over, no markings visible. Experienced plane-spotters might have seen very similar planes in the US, usually used by civilian air transport providers to ferry material, people and "unknown cargo" to countries south of Mexico and on charter to US government institutions. Similar operations were performed by "Air America" during the Vietnam war ...
Are we right in assuming this was a part of the US war effort and that Dublin Airport is now being used in similar fashion to Shannon?
Or is there an innocent explanation?
